Paris Jackson Resurfaces, Hits Back at Claims She Was Hospitalized After Attempted Suicide

Paris Jackson, daughter of controversial pop icon Michael Jackson, is denying that she was recently hospitalized after attempting suicide. TMZ claimed on Saturday that Jackson “was transported to a hospital and placed on 5150 hold” after harming herself, which so-called family sources blamed “in large to the fallout from Leaving Neverland.” The model and singer quickly struck back over Twitter, blasting the gossip site for what she called false information: “fuck you you fucking liars.”

Now, the 20-year-old public figure has resurfaced in public, out and about with her boyfriend, Gabriel Glenn.

People published the latest update to the Jackson saga, which began with TMZ’s report that police and EMS responded to Paris’ Los Angeles home at 7:30 A.M. Saturday—allegedly in response to her slitting her wrists. According to People, a public information officer with the Los Angeles Police Department seemed to confirm the veracity of the TMZ report: “At about 7:28 a.m., officers responded to the 7200 block of Hillside for an ambulance attempt suicide. The victim was transported to a local hospital.”

The report also said that Paris’ injuries stemmed from renewed controversy around her father, who was once again accused of sexually abusing children in the HBO documentary Leaving Neverland. (Jackson denied all accusations of sexually abusing children before his death in 2009, and in a 2005 trial, he was acquitted on 10 felony counts, including four counts of child molestation and one of attempted child molestation.)

Hours before the alleged hospitalization took place, Paris tweeted a rebuke to reports that she was no longer defending her father: “i am defending him, in my own way. you’re a really smart guyyyyyyyy,” she wrote to Perez Hilton. She’d earlier tweeted in support of her cousin, Taj Jackson—who has vehemently denied the claims of Michael Jackson accusers Wade Robson and James Safechuck—without weighing in on the Leaving Neverland accusations directly.

Once word of her apparent hospitalization broke, Paris denied TMZ’s claim of a suicide attempt, and responded to a since-deleted repost from Real Housewives star Bethenny Frankel: “lies lies lies omg and more lies.”

Representation for both Paris and the Jackson estate have yet to comment further, though a People source similarly denies that Paris attempted suicide. “Paris had an accident this morning that required medical treatment,” the source said. “She is currently resting at home and doing fine.”
