Mailman Is Caught On Horrifying CCTV Footage Pepper-Spraying Families Rescue Dog

If you’re an animal lover like me, prepare to be infuriated. A postman (yep, a postman) has been caught routinely pepper-spraying a local family’s small rescue pup. That’s right, pepper-spraying.

The devastated family, who are known as the Galindo family, were only alerted to this alleged animal abuse going on after they repeatedly saw a strange stain on the front drive of their home in California. The dog’s father, whose name is Alfonso Galindo, decided to investigate a little and so he installed security cameras onto the outside of his family home.

After reviewing the footage himself, this is what Alfonso discovered:

The footage showed that his own family’s beloved 7-year-old rescue dog, who they named Pupa, writhing around seemingly in a lot of pain just as a mailman is seen exiting the approach of the Galindo home in San Diego.

When he inspected the footage a little closer, the father-of-two (not including adorable little Pupa, that is), noticed that the mailman actually appeared to spray something from a canister directly into the poor poodle’s face, as soon as the dog begins to bark excitedly from behind the secure gate as the mailman in question approaches.

The video then goes onto show Pupa rubbing her sore little face and eyes against the pavement, in a clear and desperate attempt to get rid of the stinging, reportedly pepper-spray-like substance that was contained in the canister.

Having watched even more footage of the gruesome act from the security camera, Galindo says that Pupa literally ‘convulses in some sort of ritualistic pain’ as the mailman passes their gat on at least nine different occasions.

In his own words to Fox5:

“Never did I suspect the mailman. Never did I suspect somebody that you trust with your mail, with your packages. It was heartbreaking, it was really heartbreaking.

I’m at a loss for words. It makes me sick to my stomach.”

He does say that, in hindsight, he remembers his poor dog’s eyes were bloodshot, however, he thought nothing of it at the time, as the redness seemed to clear up pretty quickly.

To make matters even worse, Galindo says that his two children – who are named Alfonso Jr. (who is 3 years old) and Regina (who is one year old), have now developed respiratory problems after regularly interacting with their dog Pupa.

He truly believes that his children’s health conditions are directly related to the chemical contents that came from within the canister which was used on Pupa, as it more than likely stuck to the dog’s fur. However, this hasn’t been confirmed by any medical professionals as of yet.

While speaking to WDSU, the upset dad concluded:

“I get livid thinking about it. This is the health of my children. I believe what he’s done to my family is criminal.”

Unsurprisingly, Galindo went ahead and complained to USPS last week, after making the discovery on Tuesday just passed.

The delivery company then issued a statement following an alleged internal investigation:

“On behalf of the United States Postal Service, we want to apologize to the Galindo family and Pupa. We do not condone our employees behaving in a manner which is not professional and courteous.

The appropriate personnel and corrective action will be taken as well as training is given to all local letter carriers.”

The mailman is still yet to be identified for the public… which is probably for the best because if I knew who they were, I’d find it hard not to track them down myself and fill THEIR eyes with pepper-spray!
