Gary And Kate McCann Are Not Happy About The New Madeleine McCann Documentary

What did I say the other day? 2019 is well and truly the year for Controversial Documentaries, and this next one I’m about to discuss is absolutely no different at all.

The shady parents of missing Madeleine McCann… who has now been missing for 12 years have slammed a controversial new documentary, which is expected to air on popular platform Netflix at the end of this month… saying it could potentially ‘hinder’ the investigation. Which, in my opinion, is pretty laughable.

Kate and Gerry McCann have flat-out refused to participate in the supposed eight-part-crime series which has been entitled The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann and have also publically announced that they do not see how the documentary will ‘help the search’ for Madeleine… who disappeared on 3rd of May way, way, waaaay back in 2007 from her bed while in a Portuguese apartment.

Below is a video clip of the first ever breaking news story from when Madeleine first disappeared:

Netflix is expected to air the docuseries later this month and it’s reported to have cost the incredibly popular streaming service a whopping sum of £20 million (which is an estimated $26.3m).

In their only statement about the upcoming docu-series, the McCann’s said: “We are aware that Netflix is planning to screen a documentary in March 2019 about Madeleine’s disappearance.

The production company told us that they were making the documentary and asked us to participate…”

“…We did not see – and still do not see – how this programme will help the search for Madeleine and, particularly given there is an active police investigation, it could potentially hinder it.

Consequently, our views and preferences are not reflected in the programme. We will not be making any further statements or giving interviews regarding this programme.”

Madeleine first disappeared in May of 2007 while she was on holiday with her family in Praia de Luz, which is a resort town in the Algarve, Portugal – a popular European holiday destination.

Madeleine, along with her two-year-old twin siblings, were left to sleep in their ground floor apartment while their parents, Gerry and Kate left all three of them alone so they could go and enjoy a meal together in a restaurant with friends which was 55 meters away.

The children were allegedly checked on periodically up until the point Madeleine’s own mum discovered that she had all of a sudden disappeared at the time around 10 pm.

Since her disappearance, which was over a decade ago at this point, a global search has indeed been underway – and to this day the story of her disappearance remains one of the world’s biggest mysteries, nearly a whole 12 years on since it happened.

However, her parents, Gary and Kate McCann, are apparently still trying to hold on to the hope that their daughter is still alive – despite the fact that there are many rumors surrounding the idea that they are both directly involved with the young girls disappearance themselves – and on her 14th birthday back in 2017 they both said:

“We love you and we’re waiting for you and we’re never going to give up.”

I for one just hope this mystery is solved within my lifetime because it has baffled me for YEARS!

What are your thoughts folks? Do you think Kate and Gary McCann are trying to hide something by being against the upcoming documentary? Do you think their just as guilty for leaving their children alone? Let me know in the comments and don’t forget to share this with your friends and family! x
