‘I do not believe in love, the sh*t does not exist’ – Writer Tope Delano

Nigerian writer Tope Delano has stated that she does not believe that two adults can actually be in love with others as what they call love is mere respect.

Tope went on to state that what most people have for their partner is respect which they mistake for love as staying with someone you have no feelings for is mere torture and will do no one any good.

In her words;

I do not believe in the whole idea of love between adults. In my opinion, shit doesn’t exist…If you call your decision to remain faithful and committed to one person despite not feeling shit for them love, then nah, I’ll pass. That’s not love that’s simply respect.
