Disgusting Dead Rodent Baby Found In Teriyaki Noodles Leads To Investigation

Yihi Japan in Columbus, Ohio has been shut down after investigations into the establishment  by the Health Department following a video being posted of a woman finding a dead rodent served in her teriyaki chicken noodles!

Please grab your vomit bags now, as this is truly disgusting. A video posted by Deyanira Cortes on Facebook quickly went viral as it showed her using her plastic fork to delightfully highlight a small, seemingly slightly deformed young rat still possessing it’s head feet and… wait for it… tail!

The video caused Yihi Japan, found in the Columbus’s Polaris Mall, to be investigated by the Health Department because… well, they found a rat in the food! However, bizarrely enough, according to reports the inspection did not reveal any rodent activity! (Probably as they’ve cooked them all and served them to customers!)

Although, despite the fact that they didn’t find any rodent activity on the premises, the inspectors did find such quaint features as ‘sewage backing up the floor drains’, and ‘the presence of cockroaches and flies around the facility.’ Due to this, Yihi Japan was closed by the health department, so you can forget all about the disgusting incident… although I can’t I’ll be able to for a while!

The owners of the Polaris Fashion Mall, Washington Prime Group, put out a statement regarding the report, anticipating the severe nature of the backlash:

“We are working closely with the Columbus Public Health Department as they investigate this incident. Washington Prime Group, the owner of Polaris Fashion Place, is currently evaluating the option of not renewing a lease with this tenant.”

If the restaurant manages to remedy these issues (that’s one hell of a remedy to make people forget that a woman was served a dead baby rat in her noodles), the apparently it may then be considered for reopening. However, the owners made a statement that they have been considering the option of not renewing the lease with Yihi Japan.

I cannot imagine that a organisation would risk the kind of social-media backlash hat is possible in this day and age by allowing that restaurant to reopen regardless of how well they sort out the backlog of sewage coming through the drains and the cockroaches and flies etc. The internet rarely forgets, and they could face a freakin’ massive fallout if they reopened, even if they changed the name and branding.

I think it’ll be a long time before I stop checking through every piece of food I order looking for pieces of rat after this. These sorts of horror stories come up way too often and I’m just waiting for the day that it’s me finding something horrible… oh it doesn’t bear thinking about!

Would you ever be able to trust a restaurant again if you found this in your food? Or have you been the victim of something finding its way into your food that definitely shouldn’t be there?! If so, let me know in the comments… so long as it’s not too disgusting! AAx
