Why I Concede Defeat To Buhari In 2015

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has revealed why he conceded defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2015 presidential elections. Jonathan who made this revelation through his personal aide, Eze Akachukwu, said he shelved his personal ambition for the future of democracy in Africa.

He made this disclosure while speaking as a guest of honor at the Oronto Natei Douglas Memorial Dialogue with the theme: ‘Nigeria’s Broken Electoral System, Uwais Report and Unfinished  Business’, which held in Abuja.

In his word:

*  He said he sacrificed everything that may be important to people that believe that holding onto power was critical.

*   He cited his belief in the future of democracy in Africa as the reason he sacrificed his personal ambition for a second term in 2015,
