Lori Loughlin ‘Will Have To Serve Jail Time’ Even With A Plea Deal

The Full House star is facing years of jail time

Lori Loughlin has been a household name for decades now, thanks mostly to her role in Full House back in the 1980s.

However, these days, Lori is making headlines for all the wrong reasons, and is in a huge amount of legal trouble after alleged financial irregularities concerning her daughters’ application to a prestigious university.

Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are accused of paying $500,000 to make it appear that their two daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella were rowing team recruits to guarantee the girls’ admission to USC.

Multiple sources connected to the case told TMZ that prosecutors have offered the case’s accused parents plea deals, but will only accept pleas with prison time attached. The amount of recommended jail time is dependent on the amount paid in bribes, and whether the parent accepts responsibility for what he or she did.

Fellow screen actress Felicity Huffman, who appeared in the hit TV show Desperate Housewives, was arrested on a similar charge, and copped a plea on Monday, along with 12 other parents. The remaining 37 individuals charged – which includes Lori and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli – have been offered differing plea deals, with varying recommendations for prison sentences, largely determined by the amount they paid in bribes and whether they accept responsibility for what they did.

In the case of Huffman, who was accused of paying $15,000 to have her oldest daughter’s SAT score doctored, she faces “as little as four months in prison,” TMZ wrote. However, for Loughlin and Giannulli, their minimum prison sentence ranges from two to two and a half years, because of their much-larger $500,000 bribe.

Should they or any other parents not reach a plea deal, their case will go to a federal grand jury, TMZ’s sources said, where charges, including money laundering, will be brought. Those additional charges will reportedly “significantly” raise the prison sentence minimum, were they to be found guilty.

Although some people will say that these parents got what was coming to them, the court proceedings, along with the endless amount of media attention, must be taking its toll on Lori and her family.

According to a report from People, the actress is turning to God and yoga to persevere through these tough times.

“While waiting for this to come to some conclusion, she’s trying to keep a somewhat regular schedule—going to yoga and pilates and seeing friends for lunch,” a source told the outlet. “She is very faith-based, and she knows her faith will get her through this. She’s holding up well, given the circumstances. She has a strong very strong faith that is helping her immensely. She loves her husband and her children very much.”

It looks as if the plea deal is the only option for Lori and her husband, given that the potential outcome of going to trial seem to be far more severe.

We’ll be keeping an eye on this over the coming weeks, and will bring you more as we get it. AAx
