Kylie Jenner Comes To Her Senses And Confesses That She’s Not *Quite* A Self-Made Billionaire

Recently Kylie Jenner, a woman born into unimaginable wealth, was labeled the youngest self-made billionaire.

We think not Miss Jenner.

Kylie, just 21, was declared by Forbes to be ‘the youngest self-made billionaire ever’. That’s quite a title, eh? Shame that it’s completely undeserved… but anyway.

According to Forbes, a ‘self-made’ person can be defined as ‘having built a company or established a fortune on their own, rather than inheriting some or all of it’.

Okay, back up, so we’re going to pretend that Jenner hasn’t benefitted at all from being born into one of the wealthiest families in America? We’re doing that, are we? Okay. Cool. Good. Just so we’re clear.

Kylie, in what can only be described as a bold move, has attempted to defend her ownership of the title. She explained that her parents stopped supporting her financially when she was just 15 years old, in an interview with Interview magazine she said, ‘there’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth’.

Ah, yes. Financial support cut at fifteen and a billionaire by 21… You have to wonder how much she was earning at 15, don’t you??

Kylie started her own cosmetic business (y’know, that thing all 15-year olds without financial support do?) with Kylie Cosmetics. She claims to have done it all by herself… we’re skeptical. We never did manage to become billionaires selling our Aunty Acid lip kits…

We just can’t manage that level of pensive gazing whilst putting our lippy on…

However, in a shocking turn of events Kylie admitted to The New York Timesthat her title was questionable:

“I can’t say I’ve done it by myself, if they’re just talking finances, technically, yes, I don’t have any inherited money. But I have had a lot of help and a huge platform.”

Oh my god, how embarrassing, I’m wearing my floor length, diamond encrusted dress today as well?! I bought it with all that money I “got help” getting.

Doubtless, the young woman has worked hard (lifting that lip gloss to your face? Punishing stuff) she is a businesswoman in her own right and certainly has made even further success from her not-at-all humble beginnings. Maybe others in her situation would be happy to guzzle cocktails and caviar all day (and we’re sure she does her fair share) but Kylie clearly wants something more. A billion more to be exact.

So, I guess we’ve got to credit Kylie with becoming a fraction more self-aware and admitting she’s maybe not as ‘self-made’ as Forbes would have us think. We know plenty of hardworking women with not even half of this girl’s wealth, and they didn’t have a platform or ‘help’ from supremely wealthy sources to help them ‘start out’. How the other half live, eh…

I like to think this was the moment Kylie realized she maybe wasn’t as “self-made” as she’d first thought. There’s nothing like a designer gown, a personalized phone case, a fresh manicure and a damn chandelier in the black marble bathroom to sober you up to the idea that maybe life hasn’t been so hard on you!

So, has Kylie done enough to acknowledge the ‘helping hand’ she’s had in life? Or are you still unconvinced? We know lots of hardworking people more deserving of her self-made title! AAx
