20 Things McDonald’s Employees Are Desperate For You To Know

McDonald’s employees work really hard, anyone in any food and retail job does. Sometimes the customers in McDonald’s drive the workers INSANE. So, if you are a good person, you might want to listen to what they have to say…

McDonald’s is a wonderful place that probably sells the best food ever to grace the Earth. However, some customers seem to have no self-awareness and annoy the staff more than anyone would have thought possible.

Some of you may do these things by accident (doubt it) and some people just seem to like annoying McDonald’s workers. Either way, they have something to say and you might want to listen…

1.) The ice-cream machine really IS BROKEN

WE PROMISE

For some reason, people REFUSE to believe McDonald’s workers when they say that the ice-cream machine is broken. Well, here’s your proof, it really is and you shouldn’t bug them about it. I know it’s surprising but it really isn’t their fault! Shocking, I know…

2.) Also, can you please clean up after yourself?

There are some people who just don’t understand the concept of actually cleaning up after themselves. They just leave as much rubbish as physically possible and just WALK AWAY. I’m actually impressed by how little self-awareness some people seem to have…

3.) Let this be your McDonald’s mantra

Louder please, for the people in the back! I’ve never worked at McDonald’s and I still go crazy when I see people just leaving as much mess as possible and not even feeling bad about it. Some people just think everyone who works in retail is their slave…

4.) Don’t you DARE say this

Do people actually know how rude they sound when they say this? It totally sounds like you think people are below you and that’s a toxic, awful way to think about people.

5.) There isn’t just one type of Happy Meal

For some reason, people are under the impression that just asking for a Happy Meal will get them what they want, no, you have to specify what type of Happy Meal. It’s really not that hard!

6.) Stop making everything so complicated

A cheeseburger without cheese is literally a hamburger, stop making everything so complicated! The age-old saying that “the customer is always right” is probably the wrongest saying OF ALL TIME.

7.) Learn to answer simple questions!

When people order things in McDonald’s, they have it so set in their minds what they want that when the staff ask a simple question like “how many” the customer is completely thrown off and just keep saying “yes”. Why do customers make it such a complicated process when it’s so easy?!

8.) Happy Meals are basically the worst

If you can avoid ordering a Happy Meal, do it. They basically ruin everyone’s day and make for a log, complicated and annoying order. If you have to order a Happy Meal, just know EXACTLY what you want first, especially if you are ordering a load.

9.) If you want your food, listen and pay attention

Customers order their food, pay for their food then just IGNORE EVERYTHING. McDonald’s workers are left confused as to whether the customer even wants their food after shouting out their order number a million times. It’s not that hard to pay attention…

10.) Just please listen

Simple questions seem to be impossible to answer in McDonald’s apparently. It’s so easy to say what drink you want…if you don’t want a drink, guess what? JUST SAY THAT!

11.) Speak loud and clear

McDonald’s is basically always noisy and busy so when ordered, you might want to speak up. It’s super awkward and frustrating for the worker to ask what you said for the tenth time…

12.) These workers have been up since 3 am so respect that

Before mouthing off to a McDonald’s worker about something irrelevant, try to remember that they have been up since 3 am working their butt off whilst you were sound asleep in bed. Don’t be that person.

13.) Stop blaming the cashier for your problems

Many of the McDonald’s customers think that everything is the cashier’s fault or that the cashier can fix all of their problems. Stop getting mad and realise that actually your problems are your own, sorry…

14.) I’m pretty sure the cashier knows what they are doing…

Some customers can really act like they know how to work EVERYTHING and the person who works there clearly has no idea. This really isn’t the case and people need to stop acting like this.

15.) You aren’t being double charged!

I’ve never understood why people always accuse the staff of trying to double charge them. Don’t people know that double charging a customer won’t benefit the staff in any way whatsoever? The money goes straight to McDonald’s, not to the individual staff members…

16.) Try to actually know what you want to order

Why would you ever walk up to the till to order without knowing what you actually want? It’s not only annoying for the staff but for the customers waiting in line who actually know what they want! Also, they will ask for a suggestion and the McDonald’s worker will suggest an item then they will be shocked like how DARE you suggest that. I lose faith in humanity when this happens.

17.) I can’t believe I have to say this…but McDonald’s and Burger King are NOT the same

I can’t believe that people even do this. Like, do people seriously believe that Mcdonald’s and Burger King are friends or something and use the same coupons. They are each other’s competition, this would never happen!

18.) They will never get rid of Big Macs!

Do people actually ask if McDonald’s still do Big Macs? When would they stop? I’m genuinely confused why this is even a question…

19.) Stop just saying “yes” to every question!

It’s like the second people step foot into McDonald’s they can suddenly only ever answer questions with the word “yes”. Sometimes it works but not in this case.

20.) Yes to this

This is so true! Getting up at 3 am and dealing with crazy customers all day? No thank you! McDonald’s employees work hard and we need to treat them better and appreciate everything they do.

There you have it, everything McDonald’s employees want you to know, I think we can all learn from this one. Do you agree? Let us know in the comments! AAx
