Gateman rejects house gift from boss, pleads for this for his community instead

A gateman has gotten many talking after it was revealed that he rejected the offer of a house from his boss. The gateman reportedly asked that his boss instead, help build a borehole for his community.

The man identified as Musa Usman, from Giljimmi, in Birniwa Local Government Area of Jigawa State, worked as a gateman for an  Indian named Mr. V. Verghese for 25 years.

Upon retirement, his boss offered to have a house built for him, but he turned the offer down and asked that a borehole be built for him instead.

Usman’s boss,  Mr. V. Verghese, the Managing Director of a pharmaceutical company, Jawa International Limited, Lagos, has done as Usman requested.

Verghese while speaking at the commissioning of the borehole said “Musa has served me diligently for 25 years. We would travel to India and leave our house under his care and behold, we would meet everything intact. He is indeed an honest Nigerian.”
