All Four Downton Abbey Film Posters Have Finally Been Released And We’re *Swooning*

Someone fetch the butler, I’m about to faint with joy in the drawing room!

(Oh no… let’s not bring up Matthew now… my heart can’t handle it)

Didn’t know everybody’s favorite costume drama was about to drop a feature-length film? Where have you been?!

Downton Abbey, the period drama that has proved to be an absolute smash hit with fans is getting the silver screen treatment is absolutely deserves. With a star-studded cast including Lily James, Penelope Wilton and, of course, Dame Maggie Smith (everybody’s favorite dowager countess, and there’s a lot of dowager countess’ to choose a favorite from too)

The official Downton Abbey Twitter page released the posters recently and needless to say we’ve been gathering our maids around us to gossip all about the upcoming cinematic venture…

The lovely Lady Mary is roaring into the 1920s in this black and gold get-up. Played by the exceptionally talented Michelle Dockery we can’t wait to see what new twists and turns await the ill-fated but secretly sweet-natured Lady Mary! She’s not everybody’s cup of tea, but I’m certainly a fan of any stony-faced but kind-hearted girl with a good wardrobe!

The massively under-rated Edith is absolutely alluring in this peach-colored promo! Portrayed by Laura Carmichael, the actress had this to say to TV Guide about the upcoming film:

“I think everyone will be pleased. We’ve upped the ante, it’s like turned the volume up.”

I can’t handle this level of drama from my favorite costume drama. I just can’t. Someone fetch the motorcar, I need immediate medical attention.

Where are my handsome courtiers to catch my swooning body?? It’s rude that they never show up when I need them!

There’s so little of this butler showing we’re not even sure how to distinguish who the character is! And yet somehow… we’re still very attracted him?? Something about this sharp as heck costume? The white gloves remind us of a magician, we hope he magics up a three-course meal to enjoy in our very own stately home… we can dream, eh?

Didn’t think that someone polishing glassware (or is it crystal??) could be sensual? How wrong you were! This classically handsome chappy is ready and waiting to stun us all in a cinema soon… We can’t wait to see the drama overflowing from that lovely, polished cup.

Are we ready for this? I don’t think we’re ready for this?

The film will be a continuation from the TV series, following the aristocratic Crawley family and the dramatic existence they lead in their opulent manor house as they negotiate relationships, managing servants, troublesome townsfolk and all manner of historical events crashing around them.

Though we’ve lost some of our most beloved Downton characters (Matthew *sob*, poor Matthew) we’re still so excited to see what’s next for the Crawley’s!
