It’s no secret that kids can be creepy as hell. Often unintentionally so, but still, that’s why they are such a staple of horror movies. However, the fact that these come from real children, not from the mind of a horror writer is what makes these particularly chilling.

Here are 25 of the most unsettling comments made by real kids which will keep you up at night, and I’ve taken the liberty of giving some of them the names that the newspapers will doubtless be calling them years down the line.

There’s an inherently sweet sentiment to this as the child clearly just wants to keep their investment safe, however, the surprise of looking down to see a freshly lost tooth in your hand is just disgusting!

Everyone may have that occasional moment where they wonder what life would be like if they didn’t exist, but it’s normally quickly washed away with a glass of wine or a power nap I find, but to have it echoed back at you by a child is terrifying! ‘What… what if they’re right?’ I think it’s time for me to stop reading these but the show must go on.

I like to imagine that this happened on bring your child to work day, right in the middle of a very important business meeting. There’s something endearing about the way that the child, sensing that the adults may not believe them, doubles down and up the ante to ‘two ghosts’… ‘ha, now they’ll definitely believe me.’ This kid’s going places.

And yet another one from @alexsteed, this guy knows some strange children! Okay so maybe not the creepiest but it made me laugh the most for a reason I can’t quite pin down… but hey, if the kid wan’t to be a chicken, let him be a chicken! Also, quite frankly I needed something a little more light after the last 24!

 

That was 25 time that kids didn’t exactly that the darndest things, but sure did their darn best to scare us! If you can think of any creepy, terrifying, or just downright weird (I refer you back to little egg man) then let us know… so long as they’re not too scary otherwise we’ll all be sleeping with the lights on!
