Son Doesn’t Want To Cuddle So Mom Replaces Him With Unintentionally Terrifying Knitted Child
You just want them to stay little forever, right? You just knit a life-son version of them so you can always cuddle them, right?!

That was the plan of Marieke Voorsluijs. A mother from Amsterdam who was so darned frustrated by her two sons growing out of that “cuddly age” she decided to remake me them in wool.
What are you doing today Marieke?
Not much, just knitting my child’s flesh with some lovely pink wool.
Okay, maybe we’re being too harsh. She’s just a regular momma who doesn’t want her chicks flying the nest just yet. We’ve all been there! She clearly just-
NOPE.
Burn it with fire. It has no place on this earth anywhere except in Marieke’s home. It will terrorize the local children.
Of course, we’re kidding (kind of).
Nightmare fuel aside this does showcase some serious knitting skill! Sure, it’s demonstrated in potentially the most horrifying way possible, but what a talent.
Marieke owns the brand Club Geluk, knitting weirdly realistic, everyday things.

Okay! So now we’re a little more on board with this knitting adventure! This is seriously impressive stuff.
Marieke is a seriously clever Momma with her own business to bring home the bacon!
We can get on board with that!
Though we’re not sure we’ll be commissioning life-size versions of our nearest and dearest…
Marieke has spoken about the experience of knitting a life-size second son (you know, that very normal experience that we can all relate huge amounts to?) She had this to say:
“To set the bar a little higher regarding my knitting skills I thought of knitting my son. He liked it and we worked together on it. The reactions during the process were so diverse from creepy to beautiful that we decided to make some photos in real life to place the weirdness in context. It was a fun art family art project!”
We’re all for “fun family art projects”. We’re not sure we’d adopt this *exact* project, but whatever floats your boat…

This is seriously impressive (slightly terrifying) stuff!
It’s nice to know that Marieke was getting some positive feedback, people calling her amazing creations ‘beautiful’ is especially good to hear. She clearly put a lot of time and effort into this project. It’s a labor of love for the sons that she cares for very much.

Love manifests itself in strange and mysterious ways… what matters is that it’s there.

Ah yes, the dog. (Knitted) Man’s best friend.
You can see this pooch searching for some explanation about this new master, he knows something’s not quite right here.
Any addition to the family, knitted or otherwise, is very welcome.

How are they posing this figure made entirely of soft fibers? The choreography, the sheer technicality of these photos is really something else. Forget going for a picnic, this is how you bond as a family. Knit the family member you most miss having physical contact with and conduct a full-scale photo shoot around your hometown. It will be fun.
We know we haven’t the patience nor the skill to pull off something like this! Which of your family members would you knit? Make sure you tag them to express your undying love! AAx
