Paris Jackson: “It’s Not My Job To Defend My Father” After Release Of ‘Leaving Neverland’ Documentary

It’d be pretty difficult to find someone that hasn’t heard about the ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary that aired recently. The controversial film consists of claims of sexual abuse and paedophilia and has re-awoken the ongoing debate as to what Michael Jackson’s intentions were with the young children he invited to stay in his home with him.

Celebrities from far and wide have waded in on the issue offering up their own opinions. Some in defence of the king of pop, others the polar opposite.

And now, his very own daughter, Paris has come forward to have her say.

But, it’s not what you might think. She hasn’t risen to the defence of her father, one of the most iconic music artists to ever walk the earth.

In fact, it seems like she’s had just about enough of being asked about the issue.

Speaking on Twitter, Paris explained:

“There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said.”

She goes on to say “I’m just tryna get everyone to chill out and go with the flow, be mellow and think about the bigger picture. That’s me.”

The documentary, which was shown on HBO and Channel 4 respectively, included long drawn out testimonies from James Safechuck and Wade Robson. Both men have accused the late MJ of abusing them sexually when they were at tender young ages.

Of course, the Michael Jackson estate has refuted pretty much everything James and Wade have said and deny any and all claims that the pop superstar did anything wrong.

In the meantime, Paris has publicly praised her cousin Taj, for expressing his profound disbelief at the claims made against her father.

However, the aspiring actress and model has come under some heavy criticism from members of the media for not giving any sort of a concrete response to the controversial footage.

While this is all going on, and your news feeds are full of ‘did he?’ ‘didn’t he?’ arguments and fan/media opinion pieces, Taj is currently filming a documentary in response to Leaving Neverland in which he aims to set the record straight.

Speaking to NME recently, he said:

“Here’s the thing, as an adult out of the bubble I can see how society thinks that. My uncle was – and this might sound arrogant – but my uncle was too good for the world. My uncle had a pure heart.”

It’s a difficult one even for the most whole-hearted, fanatical Michael Jackson fan.
