#2019Election: Victory for APC, Court stops INEC

A Federal High Court in Abuja has stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from going on with the collation exercise in Bauchi State.

Justice Ekwo Ejembi gave the order on Tuesday while ruling on a suit filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State.

INEC on Friday rescinded its decision to conduct supplementary election in Bauchi State, instead the commission changed the returning officer of Tafawa Balewa Local government and decided to continue result collation on Tuesday.

This decision did not sit well the All Progressives Congress and the party promised to challenge INEC’s decision in court.
