The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS on Monday berated Omoyele Sowore and his fellow organizers of the #RevolutionNow march over ongoing protest, describing their action as similar to a coup against a democratic government.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, Zonal Coordinator, NANS Zone A, Umar Farouk Lawal, commended the Department of State Services for its prompt response, stressing that the planned protest would have degenerated if prompt action was not taken.

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has stated that Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow protest, ought to have been arraigned in court since his arrest. The presidency has issued an appreciative message to Nigerians for boycotting the RevolutionNow rally which held across the country on Monday, August 5th.

Uche Secondus, the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) National Chairman, has called for the immediate and unconditional release of Omoyele Sowore, the convener of the RevolutionNow movement, who was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services in the early hours of Saturday in Lagos.
According to the PDP chairman who spoke during a visit to Ahmadu Fintiri, the governor of Yola state, he said his arrest is not done in any democratic setting.
