Kalu Denies Suspending Trip To Germany After Ekweremadu’s Attack

Former Abia state governor and chief whip of the 9th Senate, Orji Kalu, has dismissed claims making the rounds on social media that he suspended his planned medical check-up to Germany over the recent attack on Ike Ekweremadu.

The former governor made this known in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja.

 

We Must Lift Nigerians Out of Poverty – Buhari Tells Ministers

President Muhammadu Buhari has told his ministers that they would work as a team to move Nigerians out of poverty.

The president said this on Monday while addressing the incoming ministers ahead of their inauguration on Wednesday in Abuja

Man Blind For 21years, Regains Sight; Enrol In Adult Education

The father of a young man who recently regained his vision after being blind for 21 years, Mr Eli Humoshe, has said that his son, Edmond E li(24), will be enrolled for adult education.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Edmond, went blind at age three, but regained his sight over the weekend, following a free surgery offered him and many others at the just-concluded one-week medical outreach.

 

Omokri Knocks Buhari For Shutting Down Venue Where Soyinka, Falana Were To Speak On Insecurity

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide has lambasted the president for sealing of the venue where Wole Soyinka and Femi Falana were billed to speak on insecurity in Nigeria.

On Monday, policemen from the Lagos state command were seen at the different strategic locations were the event was to hold.

In his reaction, Omokri said the president didn’t shut down the venue where Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria(MACBAN) held a meeting explaining why they killed Nigerians.

Apologise To Ekweremadu, Group Tells IPOB Members

A pan-African students’ movement, the Progressive Students Movement (PSM), has asked the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to apologise to Sen. Ike Ekweremadu after Saturday’s attack in Germany.

The group described the attack as global embarrassment which the proscribed IPOB must tender an unreserved apology for.

Buhari Knows Those Causing Trouble In Nigeria: Falana

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) says President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration knows those causing unrest in the country and should bring them to book.

Falana said this on Monday at the Coalition for Revolution’s (CORE) working consultative assembly themed “Democracy, state repression and the state of insecurity in Nigeria,” held at the Lagos Centre, Oregun.

According to Charlie Boy, those IPOB members deserve some accolades and award “for beating up Ekweremadu which is what ‘Our Mumu Leaders’ deserve.”

48 Hours After Attack On Ekweremadu, Germany Government Deports Nigerians

Some Nigerian migrants in Germany have been deported less than 48 hours after members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) attacked former Senator, Ike Ekweremadu.

The reason for the clampdown may not be unconnected to the assault on Ekweremadu, although the German Police reportedly carried out several arrests on the day of the attack
