Following the controversies that arose from the killings of three policemen in Taraba, the army has advised its officials to avoid confrontation with police and travel wearing mufti. In a letter signed on behalf of the chief of army staff by Brigadier-general Felix Omoigui, soldiers were advised to stay cautious in dealing with police officers.

Oby Ezekwesili, a former minister of education says when Nigerians are ready, neither Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Saharareporters and convener of #RevolutionNow, will have to mobilize them and be accused of ‘wanting to overthrow the government.’ Ezekwesili said this while reacting to the arrest and detention of Sowore, whom she described of been detained for calling out a deadly incompetent government.

The vice-chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), Idowu Olayinka has described the the security of the school as porous following frequent armed robbery attacks that occur there. A few weeks ago, a block a female block of Abubakar Abdulsalam post-graduate hall of residence was attacked by armed robbers which led to two male students being cuts on heir heads with a machete.

Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on new media on Monday said he never thought the ‘tooth-picking’ photo of the president would stir such much rancor. Ahmad says when he took the ‘innocent’ photo, which has easily become how critics describe Buhari’s government, and posted it to Snapchat around February 2019, he never envisaged how much it would hit ‘wailers’. Since the photo landed on social media, Nigerians have used it for several reasons, mostly to taunt the president and his government.
#RevolutionNow: Our Plan Is Not To Take Over Government: Ozikpu
Elias Ozikpu, a member of the African Action Congress (AAC) and member of the Take it Back Movement, says if the #RevolutionNow march was aimed at taking over government, they wouldn’t have held it at the National Stadium in Lagos. Speaking in Lagos, Ozikpu, who was arrested and detained by security agencies alongside eight others for participating in the protest, and regained freedom on Thursday, said that the objective of the march was misinterpreted. He noted further that the #RevolutionNow march was organised to call for good governance and not to topple the government.

Police To Arraign Soldier Who Allegedly Raped Student In Ondo
The soldier, Sunday Adelola, who allegedly raped a student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Akoko, will be arraigned in court this week, police confirms. Spokesperson of the Ondo State police command, Femi Joseph, revealed that the victim is a 300-level student of the department of Religous and African Studies in the institution.
