Supreme Court to Deliver Judgement on Osun Election Today

The Osun police command says it has deployed more of its personnel to avert any breakdown of law and order ahead of the supreme court judgment on the 2018 governorship election in the state.

This was made known by Folashade Odoro, the command’s spokesperson, adding that the police are fully prepared for the outcome.

“Officers have been placed on red alert and are pro-active to prevent any kind of violence or demonstration in the state,” she told NAN.

“We will, however, want to urge people of the state to maintain law and order and go about their lawful businesses without fear or intimidation.”

Today, the Supreme Court will decide whether the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the last governorship election in the state,  Ademola Adeleke, or Gboyega Oyetola, of the ball Progressives Congress(APC), whom was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).

Adeleke, who was declared winner by the Osun State Governorship election tribunal, is contesting the victory of Oyetola, the incumbent governor, who victory was upheld by the appeal court.
