Source Claims Lori Loughlin Wants Trial To Save Her From Jail & Restore Reputation
The college admissions scandal has put a lot of celebrity parents in hot water and the heat is only getting turned up higher on Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli…
Lori’s experience during the scandal has been one of the most closely followed and has certainly taken several dramatic twists and turns. Now, People has spoken to a source revealing Lori’s reasoning for rejecting her plea deal.
Most parents in the scandal were offered a plea deal for a minimum amount of jail time.
Lori refused this plea deal which would have carried a minimum two years prison sentence and instead pleaded “not guilty” to the crimes she stands accused of…

Due to her refusal of a plea deal Loughlin and Giannulli could now face up to forty years in prison on charges of money laundering and fraud…
Lori and husband Mossimo, stand accused of bribing USC staff to provide their daughters with a place at the University.
The couple hoped that their daughters would be accepted as recruits to the USC crew team, but it has since been revealed that neither of the girls actually play the sport…
Look, it’s not for me to judge but… if you were going to commit this kind of fraudulent behavior you’d at least get your kid to try the sport you lied about their ability in, right?!
Lori has since claimed that she had no idea her actions were criminal (spare me your incredulously raised eyebrows, please) and pointed out that affluent families making “donations” to Universities (helping to fund libraries, sports centres) in return for their child’s preferential treatment, is a longstanding tradition that has always gone unquestioned.

She has a point, though her excuse doesn’t quite un-riddle just why she paid out $500,000 to admissions consultant Rick Singer. Call it a donation if you want, but the general consensus is that something other than charity was at play here…
Now, a source has revealed to People just what is going through Lori’s head in this challenging time and why exactly she refused a plea deal that carried (comparatively) such little jail time. The source said;
“Lori feels like so much damage has been done publicly that the only way for her to counter it is to fight this case in court,”
They continued; “She feels like once all the evidence is presented, that people will understand how things happened.”
Which I can understand! I guess nobody ever knows exactly what the “full picture” is in these circumstances until both sides have been heard!
The source went on to say:
“She doesn’t want to spend time in jail but she knows that any sort of plea or conviction at this point will include jail time. Her only chance of avoiding jail is to go to court and be found not guilty.”
Regardless of your opinion on this matter, I’m sure you can agree, this must be such a daunting prospect, and any mother would be fearing for herself and, of course, her daughters, if the worst happened…

The source concluded:
“Everyone has seen snippets of the evidence, but there’s a lot more out there. When you look at it in context, you can argue that this is a woman who didn’t understand exactly what she was doing — and she was being counseled and guided by a man who this was his area of expertise. When the evidence comes out, she’ll have a case to make.”
“At this point, if she pleads guilty, she feels like the mitigating evidence will never see the light of day.”

What a terrifying thought. Some argue that Loughlin is being treated in an unnecessarily harsh manner to be made “an example” of. Everybody knows celebrities usually get preferential treatment so the court seems keen to show Lori will receive none of it… but does this punishment suit the crime??
Do you think Lori’s reputation can still be saved? Do you think she’s a hardened criminal or just another mother wanting the best for her children? Let me know in the comments! AAx
