JAMB: 15-year-old overall best 2019 UTME candidate not likely to get admission because he’s underage
The release of the results for the 2019 UTME was announced on Saturday by Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board( JAMB) Registrar at a news conference in Abuja.
Oloyede also said that the overall best student, Franklin, who scored 347 and made University of Lagos his first choice, might likely not get the admission because he is underage.
Other best performing candidates are Emmanuel Chidebube(16) from Abia state scored 346 score and came second — Isaac Olamide(17)from Osun stay came third with 345 score.
It was also stated that 2,906 candidates scored over 300 as against 4,683 in the last UTME.
57,579 candidates reportedly scored between 250 and 299 as against 64,120 in the 2018 results.
Whereas 366,757 candidates scored between 200 and 249, a significant improvement from the 2018 results.
Oloyede revealed that about 1,792,719 candidates sat for this year’s UTME but 34,120 candidates had their results seized for examination malpractice — While 15,145 results were withheld for further clarification.
