Yemi Osinbajo joins world leaders to commemorate Rwandan Genocide
Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of Nigeria has left Nigeria for Rwanda, where other world leaders are gathered to celebrate the International Day of Reflection and 25th National Commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi holding today in Kigali, Rwanda.
According to Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity some of the activities lined up for the event include the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the Wreaths laying ceremony and Lighting of the Flame by the President of the Republic of Rwanda and Special Guests. April 7, 1994, marked the beginning of the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda perpetrated by the Hutu extremist-led government.
United Nations declared April 7 as the International Day of Reflection in 2003.
