Walmart Reveals The Weird And Wonderful Best Sellers In Twenty Different States

As with all companies, Walmart tracks its customer’s shopping habits both in-store and online. However, Walmart decided to share the most popular best selling items from various American states and the results are a little odd, to say the least…

Some of these best selling items are just completely random and some a little concerning, why do people in Illinois keep buying so many erasers? What do they have to hide??

All I want to know is who are these people making the purchases and why? This data released by Walmart raises more questions than answers but it certainly says a lot about each state…

1.) Alabama loves buying crayons

People seem to love their crayons in Alabama, so much so that they are the best selling Walmart product in the state! There’s either a lot of artistic kids that live there or the adults are very stressed out.

2.) Arizona loves buying L.O.L. Surprise! Dolls

There must be a load of happy kids in Arizona! (… or a lot of weird adults) For some reason, the most popular Walmart item in this state is  L.O.L. Surprise! Dolls which clearly means that they are a big deal. It does sound adorable though, inside the little ball is a doll-related surprise and I would have loved this as a kid!

3.) California loves buying protein powder

This is actually so obvious it’s funny. Thanks to the abundance of beaches and the need to look fit and strong, California cannot get enough of the protein powder from Walmart. At least it tastes like chocolate…

4.) Colorado loves buying M&M’s

This truly could be the most random one yet. Why does Colorado have such a love for M&M’s? No idea. Maybe they have only just discovered they exist or something so everyone is buying them in bulk? Either way, I don’t think that I understand the hype.

5.) Connecticut loves buying “Ghost In The Shell”

The 2017 science fiction film “Ghost in the Shell” was considered a box office flop and yet, for some reason, they are loving it in Connecticut! I think this one has to be the most random…

6.) Delaware loves buying spiced jelly candy

I never knew that there was such thing as spiced jelly candy! But that’s probably because I’m not from Delaware where they seem to be obsessed with it! Maybe they all live in gingerbread houses with candy decor? So they all skip off to Walmart to buy these sweet treats!

7.) Florida loves buying sparkling cider

Apparently, people in Florida love the taste of cider but not alcohol? (I certainly can’t relate…) Naturally, they buy loads of alcohol-free sparkling cider! Sounds delicious and I can’t blame them for loving this.

8.) Hawaii loves buying Barbie farmer dolls

Hawaii isn’t about those fancy Barbies, they want a realistic farmer Barbie to keep their kids entertained. That’s why it’s the best selling Walmart product in Hawaii!

9.) Illinois loves buying erasers

Illinois seems to make a lot of mistakes and write everything in pencil as their best selling item in Walmart is erasers. Seriously, in this day and age, I thought erasers wouldn’t be popular as everyone types stuff. They keep it old school in Illinois.

10.) Indiana loves to buy instant coffee

The people of Indiana definitely have a severe coffee addiction if their Walmart shopping history is anything to go by. They also don’t have time to wait for their coffee which is why they buy instant. Let’s just hope the Walmarts in Indiana never miss a coffee delivery, there could be a lot of angry, tired and irritated customers!

11.) Kansas loves buying Ozark Trail Tumblers

Kansas residents seem to love the reusable water bottle. However, the only best seller is the Ozark Trail Tumblers, so they seem to be very particular about the type of reusable water bottle they buy. Strange.

12.) Kentucky loves buying 4 x 6 Prints

As if things couldn’t get much weirder…Kentucky really loves buying 4 x 6 photo prints, I guess they must just really love capturing and printing their memorable moments. Who actually prints their photos now though? Clearly, the people in Kentucky are keeping the photo printing business afloat.

13.) Louisiana loves buying root beer extract

The people in Louisiana must really love baking but ONLY with root beer extract as they buy so much that it’s Walmart’s best seller in that state. Seriously, who needs to buy that much root beer extract?! It doesn’t even sound nice…

14.) Michigan loves buying lavender scented cleaning products

This is so oddly specific that I actually feel a little bit uncomfortable. Clearly, Michigan is full of clean freaks but why the lavender preference? They all seem to go crazy for the scent of lavender…

15.) Minnesota loves buying Flamin’ hot Cheetos

Minnesota clearly has a soft spot for snacks but not just any snacks, they MUST be Flamin’ hot Cheetos. This is fair enough and I’m completely on board with this.

16.) Mississippi loves buying oil-less fryers

People in Mississippi love fried food but they like to keep it healthy so they all buy oil-less fryers! They are definitely doing it right but how many of these do they buy to make it their Walmart bestseller?!

17.) New Mexico loves buying cat food

The cats in New Mexico are clearly treated very well as the residents are buying so much cat food that it’s their Walmart best seller! The cats must be pretty big considering how much cat food they get through…

18.) New York loves buying Cheerios

New Yorkers definitely don’t like to skip breakfast and their favourite breakfast item is the humble Cheerio! They buy so much that it’s their Walmart’s bestseller…

19.) North Carolina loves buying Mayonnaise

North Carolina dwellers hate nothing more than a dry sandwich or salad. This is why they all stock up on mayonnaise from Walmart!

20.) North Dakota loves buying watermelon flavoured gum

North Dakota residents not only love chewing gum but it HAS to be watermelon flavoured. This is the most random best selling item EVER! How much do these people buy?!

So, there you have it. Every state seems to have a different, weird and random shopping habit. Was yours on the list? Is it your favorite product too? Let us know in the comments! AAx
