Police Deliver Serious Justice To Heartless Woman Caught Binning 7 Puppies In Trash And Keeping Puppy Horror Show At Home
Deborah Sue Culwell has been arrested on suspicion of binning a bag filled with 7 puppies into a bin in Coachella, California during 90°F heat! However, when police went to her home to arrest her, they found even more dogs in need of rescuing.

Video surveillance shows Culwell, 54, getting out of her jeep, heading over to the bins and hurling the small, white, tightly-tied plastic bag filled with 7 puppies in amongst the trash.

Culwell initially opens the smaller trash container, but then in a heartbreakingly casual manner, opts to throw the puppies into the already full dumpster instead. Thankfully however, a passerby happened to find the bag whilst looking through the trash and left the bag outside the store where the puppies would be found, they were and an employee of the store contacted animal services. According to officials, had the dogs not been found in such a short amount of time, they would not have survived in that heat.

The 7 terrier puppies are said to be doing fine; however, the horror story didn’t end there, as when authorities tracked down Culwell, they found another 38 dogs suffering traumatic conditions in her home. The photos are gut-wrenching to look at.

Talking to Buzzfeed News, the public informations officer for Animal Services made this statement:
“We were uncertain who would care for the dogs after she was arrested, so we were forced to impound all 38 […] the house was overrun with other dogs, [and it] was in a state of despair.”

The dogs have all thankfully been removed for the home and are being looked after in a rescue shelter; however, reports say that the animals are not yet able to be put up for adoption as they are still considered ‘confiscated animals’. Culwell (pictured below in handcuffs following her arrest) will face around ‘seven counts of felony animal cruelty’ apparently.

The mind boggles at what could make someone so callous and disgusting at heart. Throwing a plastic bag full of puppies to die in the hot sun is amongst one of the most outwardly vicious things I’ve seen for a long time. How could someone do that to these little guys (who thank God are fine now)…

Chris Mayer, Riverside County Animal Service Commander, made this statement about Culwell’s actions:
“There is no excuse for dumping puppies. Especially in today’s age when we or other shelters would be willing to get these animals to foster parents or rescue partners. This was a shameful act.”

With so many poor dogs in shelters today, the importance of considering adopting a rescue dog if you’re thinking of getting a dog can’t be understated! Thank goodness all of these dogs are getting the nourishment and care they deserve now, and hopefully they’ll be able to find loving homes of their own in the future.
