Nigerians call out Buhari over “swift” response to Sri Lanka Easter Sunday attack

Over 150 dead as bomb goes off in churches and hotels in Sri Lanka

Nigerians have reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s swift response to the “horrific attacks targeting Christians in Sri Lanka”.

The president through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu condemned attacks on several hotels and churches in Sri Lanka on Sunday — whist urging Sri Lanka to do all it could to ensure the criminals involved face the law.

Statement reads thus:

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock and sadness over the terrible attacks on several churches and hotels in Sri Lanka on the holy day of Easter.

On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, the President extends deepest condolences to the families of those killed in the attacks and wishes speedy recovery to the injured.

Noting that Nigeria stands with the people of Sri Lankan at this terrible moment, President Buhari urges the authorities not to spare the wicked elements behind these mischievous attacks.

However Some Nigerians found it wrong that the president wastes no time in condemning with other countries when they face tragedy but takes weeks and sometimes months before he responds to the ones occurring daily  in Nigeria.

What some of them said

@yungggeorge5588 wrote: See how fast he did that.. but as slow to do the same to the people here and nothing has been done yet

@Princeernest wrote:We quickly respond to other people’s matters while there is bloods flowing everywhere in Nigeria, Nigeria we hail thee.

@gadeadeleke wrote; When Zamfara is under fire under his nose.

@enim asuk wrote: No one condoles Nigeria anymore. The daily killings of Nigerians is now a way of life. Next level of incompetence.
