N400m fraud: Metuh writes court, says he can’t be available for trial because he is bereaved
A former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olisa Metuh, was unable to appear at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja for his ongoing trial because he is bereaved.
A letter was presented by his counsel to inform the court that Metuh, who is facing trial trial alongside his company, Destra Investment Limited, on a seven-count charge which involves laundering $2million couldn’t be available for his trial.
Metuh, who is also charged with illegally receiving N400 million from the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Counsel to Metuh, Mr Abel Ozioko, prayed the court for an adjournment.
Trial judge, Justice Okon Abang granted the application for an adjournment for the reasons stated by Metuh’s counsel, Abel Ozioko.
The judge therefore adjourned the matter until May 13, May 14 and May 15, after easter break.
