Mom’s Desperate Plea To “Educate” About Vaccinations After Her Baby Girl Falls Seriously Ill With Measles
The anti-vaccination movement is a red-hot topic right now. With a sleuth of celebrities joining in the “anti-vax” while others express extreme concern that preventable illnesses will have severe consequences for the most vulnerable.

Jilly Moss is certainly in the latter group. The Mom took to Facebook with the intention of educating anti-vax parents about the dangers their decisions pose to not just their own children but other people’s.
Jilly’s beautiful daughter, Alba, was too young for the MMR injection which would have protected her from the Measles she is currently suffering. Subsequently, she has to fight this “killer infection with no immunity”.
Jilly pointed out that this illness could have been prevented had the age group above Alba been vaccinated;
“The truth is this all could have been prevented if the protection layer of older kids above Alba had been vaccinated.”

Jilly also reminds readers that, “Measles is not “just a rash” it can cause blindness, encephalitis and pneumonia.” My heart really does, truly, go out to poor little Alba and her amazingly strong Mom and family.
The public Facebook post aims to educate others on the dangers of the anti-vaccination movement and its consequences, and it has been shared 119,000 times (at time of writing). Clearly, Jilly’s heartfelt message has struck a chord with many.

That poor little angel. I can’t even imagine the worry a mother must go through when her tiny baby is so sick. You could only hold them close and pray for the very best.
Jilly was quick to point out the amazing work of the doctors and nurses at the hospital where Alba is being treated;
“without the care of Chelsea and west Doctors our beautiful baby would not be here today.”
Seriously, what did we freakin’ do to deserve these amazing people? GIVE THEM ALL THE MONEY FOR GOODNESS SAKE.
The Mom pointed out that although some parents might be afraid to give their children the vaccination (as it can make kids feel slightly “under the weather” for a day or two after) the minor upset the vaccination might cause would be nothing compared to the suffering she and her family had endured to keep their baby alive;
“It has been absolutely horrific watching our daughter fight this with her eyes swollen shut for 4 days. She has been in the dark, scared with a high fever that lasted for over two weeks.”

Moss went on to say:
“In hospital she has been scanned, X-rayed poked prodded bloods taken, lumbar punctures done, canulars fitted, swabs taken, ECG Eccos, obs done every 20 mins, tube fed, on a drip, oxygen, pumped full of drugs, anti inflammatory pain relief antibiotics you name it she’s had it.”

This poor baby girl. She’s so tiny and having to fight this terrible illness without any kind of immunity. Heartbreaking.
I really admire Jilly sharing her story so openly, that takes real guts! And for sharing (what I’m sure) are photos of her baby that pain her to see, even though Alba is absolutely gorgeous.
I hope with all my heart this little baby gets better. If you’d like to read the rest of Jilly’s Facebook post you can find it here.
Any words of encouragement for this little angel and her family? Had a similar experience? Let me know in the comments below and remember to be considerate of this families struggle to keep their little one strong. AAx
