Man Builds Adorable Boudoir For Dog With Trust Issues

After fostering 12 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier ‘Buster’, Sean Farrell decided to try and combat the pooch’s trust issues by building a miniature house inside of his living room for Buster to kick back in – and the result is lip-wobblingly wholesome.

When Sean Farrell took in rescue dog Buster he wasn’t planning on keeping the dog long term, but instead became a regular bark-itect (woof woof). Yet still, Farrell (with no carpentry experience!) and for the mere price of £80-£100 managed to create this adorable dog-icile! (Like domicile, but with ‘dog’ in it… okay it’s a bit of a reach but canine-based construction puns are few and far between)

Farrell has been documenting the creation of Buster’s paw-lace (last one I promise) on their Facebook page which has had over 210,000 shares and 91,000 comments, and rising! And, as if this wasn’t more wholesome than a high-fibre loaf of wholegrain bready goodness, the quote on the side of Buster’s bedroom ‘Imagine being a monkey’ is, according to the Facebook page ‘the first line from a lullaby [Sean] sing[s] to him when he’s having bad dreams’…

Speaking to Bored Panda about his inspiration for the project, Sean had this to say:

“Due to bad experiences in his life he doesn’t like to be around single men and when we’re alone at home he stays on his own in the bedroom. He will only come down when other people are here as well. Or for walks and food

[…] We’ve been working really, really hard on his trust issues. And because his behavior has improved so much, he is now a therapy dog and we visit residential homes hospitals and a brain injury rehabilitation clinic. He also accompanies people with low social skills, autism, agoraphobia, etc out shopping.”

Buster’s crib is kitted out with a TV, shelves, chilled-out lighting and even air conditioning in the form of a fan… kind of depressing that this dog actually has a place with more amenities than me, a ‘functioning’ adult.

This is also not the first time that dog-lover Farrell has made headlines with his canine escapades. Back in 2015, Sean’s previous dog Zook (both mentioned in the Facebook page title and included in photographs on the walls of Buster’s house) took the internet by storm when, after becoming disabled in his old age, managed to go keep going for walks thanks to owner Sean getting him a mobility chair.

In an article with Birmingham Live, Sean said that several Vets had told him that the only option was to have Zook put down at the time; however, after researching the condition which was effecting Zook, Sean decided to have a wheelchair designed for his beloved dog, with the results being amazing:

“He took to it very well and absolutely loved it he had his life back, his mobility, happy face and appetite were back to normal.”

Sean’s sincere love and dedication to his animals is something to inspire us all. His Facebook page is a veritable beacon of hope on the internet, and I cannot thank Sean enough for being a freakin’ paragon of wholesomeness, please don’t ever stop being amazing Sean.

I’m not crying, you are! Check out Sean and Buster’s Facebook page for updates on the wonderful pair, and if you think that you can come up with more/better canine-based architecture puns then let me know in the comments! AAx
