Lassa Fever: Two confirmed dead, 16 new cases discovered

Two people in Bauchi and Taraba with Lassa fever have been confirmed dead by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

It also revealed that 16 new cases of the disease has been discovered in five states in the country.

According to a recent report on the disease for Week 13(March 25 to March 31, 2019), six cases were discovered in Edo and four in Ondo, while two more cases were discovered in Bauchi, Taraba, and Plateau states.

Between January 1st to March 31st, a total of 2,034 suspected cases have been reported from 21 states — 526 of these cases were confirmed positive, 15 probable and 1,693 negative.
