Educational qualification not a requirement to become president even in U.S, Germany and France – Keyamo insists

Festus Keyamo(SAN) had whipped up a storm with his statement that a person running for the office of president doesn’t need to possess a West African Examination Council(WAEC) Certificate.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2019 Presidential election, Keyamo, had made the statement on a Channels Television programme — drawing the anger and criticisms of many Nigerians.

Keyamo said this while reacting to claims that Buhari, does not have the WAEC certificate.

Again, in a tweet on Thursday, Keyamo went on to defend his stance, saying that people contesting for the post of president, even in the U.S, Germany and France, do not require educational qualification,

Even the U.S, Germany & France have NO educational requirement for the office of President. These are HARD FACTS, not my personal view. We need to read the proceedings of the making of these Constitutions to know why they left it that way so our conversations may be more informed, he said.
