BREAKING NEWS: Britney Spears In Mental Health Facility Following Father’s Illness

Britney Spears, iconic pop singer and global superstar has been admitted into a mental health facility, TMZ reports.

Reportedly, the singer is greatly distressed over her father’s illness, he is thought to be severely unwell and his condition seems unlikely to improve.

Jamie Spears, Britney’s father, has had 2 surgeries following complications with his intestine and colon, the second (more recent) surgery has caused some health complications. These health issues began late last year when Jamie Spears’ colon spontaneously ruptured.

The singer had already put her Vegas residency on hold to better attend to her father during his illness and she is said to be struggling in this challenging time. Which of course is completely understandable and she has our deepest sympathy for what we’re sure is a heartbreaking experience.

However, the image Spears recently posted on her Instagram account appears to connote a message of self-care and hope:

Britney added the caption: “We all need to take a little time for a little ‘me time.'”

TMZ claims their sources reported Britney checked herself into the facility approximately a week ago and she is expected to live there for 30 days.

Britney is no stranger to mental health issues. She infamously shaved her head following a mental breakdown in 2007. But is it any freakin’ wonder?! She had so much fame at such an early age and paparazzi hounding her from every angle! We were happy to see her get back on track in recent years, as we are for any person over coming a mental health condition!

We’re also pleased to hear that this recent mental health hurdle has been dealt with in such a rational way. We can all sympathize with the pressures involved when taking care of a loved one and how important self care is during those times.
