20 Times Celebrities Proved You Can Totally Rock An Outfit More Than Once!

For those of us lacking wardrobes the size of zeppelins on steroids and money pouring from out of every orifice, wearing the same outfit more than once is simply a fact of life, but occasionally, even celebrities with the aforementioned wardrobes dare to wear the same outfit twice!

Yes, I know, it may seem like an insane notion in our mass-consuming society, but it happens! So here are my 20 favourite times that these daring pioneers, nay, mavericks of the red carpet had the courage to rock an outfit more than once… and killed it! (In the good way…)

 

1.) Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren is one of those people to whom the aging process is simply a slightly bothersome fruit fly which can be easily swatted away with a carefree gesture. I, on the other hand, am not one of those people, and said people continue to baffle me. The fact that Helen Mirren can pull off this outfit 4 times and make it appear so different each time, and always remain radiant, is, well frankly, annoying!

 

2.) Helena Bonham Carter

As someone who loves a lot of color and a fair bit of madness, Helena Bonham Carter’s outfits always amaze me! This is no exception! I also love that she turned up to a ceremony wearing different shoes once and when asked gave this as her reason:

“Why not wear mismatching shoes? Who says we can’t? I was just having fun. For me, fashion is all about fantasy and putting unlikely things together. That’s what I love. I genuinely love dressing up.”

 

3.) Kate Middleton

Yes that’s right, sometimes ever royalty recycle outfits! Hopefully this makes you feel a bit less bad about how often you wear that dress you just love so much you can’t stop wearing it… okay so that ‘dress’ is my bathrobe, who really cares!

As someone who always looks on the cutting edge of style, it may seem unlikely that Michelle Obama may have to wear a dress twice, but hey, she rocks it! Also, they probably have a team of fifty people calculating what outfit she should wear, so why make more work for yourself if you’ve got it right once.

Ever since the Rocky Horror Picture Show rocked up in cinemas, I have loved Susan Sarandon more than I may care to admit. So it’s no surprise that she can rock the same outfit time and time again and not get any less amazing.

Sophia Loren simply can do no wrong when it comes to fashion, a trait which I hope people will say of me one day. Loren wore this black outfit at the 67th annual Golden Globes and again at the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.

Kirsten Dunst has a thing for lace as she wore this dress at an Oscar party in 2004, and then again 13 years later in Paris. I don’t know if she was trying to hide the fact that she was wearing the same thing again by leaving it 13 years, but she owns it so why not wear it?

Alexander McQueen could be my favorite designer of things that I completely cannot afford yet pretend that I absolutely can. the fact that this dress reportedly cost $4,000 kind of justifies wearing it more than once, that and the fact that it is stunning! I reckon I’d be wearing that for five minutes before I spilled red wine on it.

This one baffles me completely, only because the Kardashian family pride themselves on being creatures of excess and extravagance on an almost interplanetary scale! I imagined that they have a team of publicists frantically disposing of outfits as soon as they are shed to the bedroom floor in order to keep the family on the sharpest edge of the zeitgeist. But, I guess she rocked it anyway.

Naomi Campbell wore this Versace dress first in 1998, and then again in 2015! I’m getting quite sick of seeing people still fitting in clothes they wore decades ago with apparently no difficulty or squeezing whatsoever!
