The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Mukhtar Idris has been elected as the Governor of Zamfara State.

Mukhtar polled 531,541 votes to defeat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bello Matawalle who polled 189,452 votes to come second.
