Venezuela Uprising: ‘We WIll Do Everything Possible to Prevent U.S Military Intervention’: Russia

Speaker of Russia’s upper house of parliament Valentina Matvienko said on Sunday that Russia will do everything possible to prevent a U.S. military intervention in Venezuela.

Ms. Matvienko told Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez in Moscow that Russia was very concerned that the USA could carry out any provocations to shed blood, to find a cause and reasons for an intervention in Venezuela.

VP Rodriguez said after talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday that President Nicolas Maduro had ordered a European office of state oil company PDVSA to move to Moscow mentioning also the blocking of the government’s assets by the Bank of England.

The United States and dozens of other countries have recognised opposition leader Juan Guaido as Venezuela’s legitimate president, but President Maduro still controls the military, state institutions and oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA , which provides ninety percent of the country’s export revenue.
