Nicolas Cage Files For Annulment After Just Four Days Of Marriage

To have and to hold, to love and to cherish, in sickness and in health… for the grand total of four days.

Nicolas Cage is filing for an annulment after just four days of marriage to Erika Koike.

Cage and Koike’s whirlwind romance seems to have taken a spontaneous turn, they applied for a marriage license the same day of the ceremony, which took place in Vegas last Saturday.

And as everybody knows, all wholesome, lasting marriages start with a wedding in Vegas, planned that very same day.

However, this Wednesday poor Nic was at court, asking a judge for an annulment. He wants to pretend this entire thing didn’t happen…

The split is, sadly, unsurprising following video footage of Cage expressing some doubts whilst getting the freakin’ marriage license.

In the aforementioned video, Erika and Cage are seen applying for a marriage license. It seems Cage has had a drink or… you know, several???

He expresses concerns that Koike is only “after his money”.

Did you consider not marrying her then? Hm?!?!? Nic?!?!?

Is this unreasonable?! Where are his family and friends to advise him not to get a marriage license with a woman who (even a fair few drinks in!) he suspects isn’t in it for the lifelong companionship and tender, loving care.

It’s not for us to say what either parties intentions were. Maybe Erika wouldn’t be interested in Cage without his fame and fortune and maybe Cage wouldn’t be interested in Erika if she wasn’t over twenty years his junior and beautiful??

Admittedly, the pair have been dating since April 2018 so clearly, a connection based on something other than money and beauty is there… even if it has since disappeared.

Cage is no stranger to marital mishaps.

The 55-year-old actor has been married three times previously to; Alice Kim, Lisa Marie Presley, and Patricia Arquette.

It seems Koike will soon be graduating to that list, potentially with more speed than desired.

We can’t imagine what caused the split so suddenly but we’re hoping both parties aren’t too badly bruised. Celebrity or not, any broken relationship can be hard to recover from. Though it is thought extremely likely she was only “after his money” and he was only interested in her looks we find it hard to believe a year-long relationship could be established without even a whiff of love?

But maybe we’re being misled by romantic hero Nicolas Cage all over again…

Irresistible. We don’t know how or why Erika would ever let him go…

In some ways, it must be freakin’ difficult to find love when your celebrity status makes you the target of fair-weather friends/partners? Did people love you for you or just for your reputation and stardom? It must be a difficult thing to figure out… not that we’d mind having the spare cash…
