Lagos Building Collapse: Simi Blows Hot

Popular Nigerian Singer, Simi Ogunleye, who is also known and addressed as ”Simi” has joined millions of Nigerians in reacting to the ill-fated Lagos Island building collapse where over a hundred school kids were said to have been trapped.

Speaking via her Twitter handle, the sonorous singer said if this kind of ”mishap” happens in a serious country, heads would have rolled and people would have gone to jail with whatever money they may have because there are offices saddled with the responsibilities of checking the suitability of buildings.

What she said:

Someplace else, people would go to jail and/or be sued for all d money they ever had. INCLUDING THE GOVERNMENT!! Because there should be offices that do these checks to make sure buildings are okay to live in or use for a school. Accountability is necessary for progress.
