Kenyan Government Sets Up Emergency Centers Following Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 Crash

Families and friends of passengers on the Ethiopian Airways flight ET302 from Addis Ababa to Nairobi, which crashed earlier this morning, are anxiously awaiting information about their loved ones.

Relatives have been waiting for over three hours with limited information surrounding the Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 passenger jet to Nairobi, which crashed early on Sunday with 149 passengers and eight crew members aboard.

Kenya Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Housing, Infrastructure and Urban Development, James Macharia, told reporters at Jomo Kenyatta airport that they are awaiting updates from Ethiopian Airlines and Ethiopian authorities along with the flight manifesto which has yet to be released.

Information according to the state run Ethiopian Broadcasting Cooperation states that no one survived the crash.

Two emergency centres have been set up for families of passengers in Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta’s Terminal 1D and the Sheraton hotel. It was also confirmed that relatives were transferred to the emergency centre.
