Just In: Atiku, PDP and their 20 SANs drag Buhari to election tribunal


The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has filed a petition against President Muhammadu Buhari over “irregularities” that trailed his reelection, at the presidential electoral tribunal.

Atiku is asking the tribunal to declare him the real winner of the February 23rd election or cancel it, via the petition failed  on Monday.

Emmanuel Enoidem, national legal adviser of the opposition party on Monday told journalists that they are certain of victory at the tribunal, adding that they have more than 20 Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SANs.

He said: “We asked that our candidate who won the election massively across the country be declared the winner.

“In the alternative, we also asked that the election be set aside on the ground of irregularity which was apparent across the country.”

“We have also lined up more than 400 witnesses that are going to testify in this petition.”
