Igbos should blame themselves for missing out on Senate President seat – APC

Following the adoption of Ahmed Lawan by APC as the next Senate President, Orji Uzor Kalu came out to warn the party that if the South East was not given the deputy senate president.

However, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Yekini Nabena has declared that the Igbos have themselves to blame for losing the opportunity to either become the Senate President or Deputy Senate President in the incoming 9th National Assembly.

According to him, APC should not be blamed for not zoning the position of Senate President or Deputy Senate President to the South-East but rather, the South-East should blame itself for queuing behind Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP in the just concluded presidential  elections.

The party’s deputy scribe insisted, however, that while nobody is stopping Kalu from contesting for the position of Senate President, the reality remains that he (Kalu) cannot win since the zoning arrangement does not favour him.
