Following Ganduje’s perceived defeat, Nigerians hail Kano people for retiring “Gandollar”
Although the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC is yet to announce the outcome of the March 9, governorship election in some states like Sokoto, Akwa Ibom and Kano, there are various speculated results flying around on various social media platforms.
These results have also stirred hot reactions from many Nigerians especially regarding Kano state’s Umar Ganduje, who is rumoured to be losing his seat to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in the state, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Ganduje had lost the respect of a lot of Nigerians after several videos of him, collecting kickbacks from contractors were published late last year.
The people are even more annoyed that there has been no sign of any concrete investigation(probably because of immunity clause) on the matter, which the APC, have since dismissed as “doctored’.
Following the perceived outcome of the Saturday polls, Nigerians are now hailing the Kano people, for doing the right thing by ” voting out” Ganduje.
Some have even advised President Muhammadu Buhari to take the bull by the horn now, and launch an investigation into the the “gandollar video”.
See their reactions
If the federal government were supporting ganduje, the script will be different. Whatever happens, I am impressed that buhari actually decided to take a back seat in regards to the elections in Kano.

Buhari must throw Ganduje under the bus. We understand he might have turned a blind eye to his evident corruption to secure 2019 votes but now that Buhari doesn't need any more votes, he should wash himself from anyone that might taint his image.
Ganduje has done enough damage.— Junzi (@Malan_Baffa) March 11, 2019

By successfully unseating Ganduje and also choosing to massively vote for Buhari, Kano people have displayed they are intentional and deliberate in their voting choices.
The North deserves an unreserved apology from the many empty bottles here who were so quick to slander them.

The Northerners are illiterates, yet a performing Kano governor is struggling to return just because of a video. Yet, the visibly incompetent and vision less governors in the South East and South South are returning with landslide. Illiteracy kee una dia!!!! #NigeriaDecides2019

If Kano people can vote Ganduje out, Northern voters will forever have my RESPECT.
You guys ain't Almajiris with no sense, as some fools posited sometimes ago.
You guys would've succeeded in voting Buhari massively but refuse Ganduje who was stuffing dollars like a petty thief

When Dawisu was insulting SW leaders for not getting big numbers for Buhari, he didn’t realize one of the reasons was the action of Governor gandollar, Gandollar’s Action affected the party, people were angry and mocking our anti corruption campaign.
