Celebrity Throwback: 20 Of The Best Then And Now Pics Of Your Favourite Stars

Let’s face it, we love celebrities, even when we try and be cool and say that we’re not into all that showbiz malarky, deep down, there’s bound to be SOMEONE in the celeb world for whom we have a particular affection for.

& more often than not, you will probably find that most people prefer the celebs that they loved as a child or a teenager…and sadly, sometimes our favourite celebs of a by gone era, tend to disappear or shy away from the spotlight as they get older…and us fangirls and boys are left wondering just what happened to our favourite TV or movie star!

What are they doing now? Where did they go? Are they even still alive? What do they look like now? Are they still handsome/beautiful!?

Well, we thought we’d compile a list of well-loved celebs, who you may not have seen in the spotlight for a while…because sometimes it’s fun to see famous people ageing as badly as we are! (Or not, as the case may be!)

1. Nicholas Lyndhurst (In 1985 & 2015)

Ahhh, lovely Nick! I have to say, I do have a huge fondness for our Rodney! Obviously, he is best known for playing Del Boy’s dopey younger brother in the UK smash hit sitcom ‘Only Fools & Horses.’
& To be honest, he isn’t looking that much different! Rodney is all grown up now.
Nick’s last appearance on our screens was in 2016 when he revived his Goodnight Sweetheart character Gary Sparrow in a one-off special episode, which aired on 2 September 2016!

2. Ozzy Osbourne (In 1973 & 2016)

Look at that fresh-faced Ozzy on the left there! Obviously best known for his time in rock group Black Sabbath, Ozzy has also won hearts in both the UK & the US by starring in his own reality TV shows along with his family.
Although sadly, Oz hasn’t been so well recently and on February 6, 2019, he was hospitalized in an undisclosed location on his doctor’s advice due to flu complications, postponing most of his upcoming touring and TV work.
We wish you the best for a speedy recovery, Ozzy!

3. Goldie Hawn (In 1980 & 2016)

I always thought that Goldie was absolutely beautiful and I always loved her, in her down to earth movie roles! Ditzy and funny, she won the hearts of millions, especially in the 1980s. Still looking absolutely amazing at age 73, she returned to the big screen in 2017 for the first time since 2002, co-starring with Amy Schumer in the comedy Snatched, playing mother and daughter.

4. Kelly McGillis (Then & Now)

Everyone loved the movie Top Gun, right!? Or was it just me!? But surely Kelly’s is a face that most people of a certain age will recognise?! She is still very busy with film, TV & stage work and she has been cast in the lead in the biographical film Annie Cook, and she has also filmed Mother of All Secrets in early 2017 in Bermuda.

5. Faye Dunaway (In 1967 and 2016)

Faye was America’s movie sweetheart during the 1960s & 1970s. She hasn’t had an easy life and has suffered many career setbacks, but her extensive work has spanned many generations and she is still extremely busy today.  She was recently quoted as describing herself as “a loner,” and added, “I kind of like to be alone and do my work and, you know, be focused on my own things.”

7. Bull Murray (In 1984 & 2016)

Starting out on Saturday Night Live and a string of popular movie appearances in the 1980s, not to mention Ghostbusters! Bill has naturally gained a huge fan following, so much so, he has even been turned into a MEME! Can you get anymore popular or famous than that!?

8. Ulrika Johnson (In 2011 & 2016)

Those of you who are fans of Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer’s surreal yet hilarious quiz show ‘Shooting Stars’, will know all about Ulrika and her various escapades! She was also known in the UK as a weather presenter and the front face of the Saturday night, muscle fun time that was the TV show Gladiators.
Her last notable appearance on our screens was in 2017 when she reached the final of Celebrity MasterChef.

9. Bruce Forsyth (In 1971 and 2016)

Brucie was a well known and well loved all-round entertainer in the UK. He was an actor, comedian, singer, dancer, and screenwriter whose career spanned more than 75 years! Sadly, our Brucie died in 2017 from pneumonia following a short illness.

10. Mike Myers (In 2000 & 2016)

Most known for his role in Austin Powers, Wayne’s World & more importantly, as the voice of Shrek, Mike Myers is still a much-loved movie and TV star today, and has most recently appeared in a supporting role in the smash hit success that is ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’

11. Mick Hucknall (In 1970 & 2016)

Mick gained international fame for his time fronting soul influenced pop band, Simply Red, with whom he enjoyed a 25-year career and sold over 50 million albums! He is still working in the music industry, but these days, it is said that he spends much time in Catania, Sicily, where he produces wines under the label “Il Cantante” (which means, The Singer).

12. Robert Carlyle (Then & Now)

Best known for his role in the smash hit 1996 film Trainspotting, Robert has proven himself time and time again as a phenomenal actor! So of course, he’s still a busy man! His most recent work was in 2018, when he portrayed Ogilvy in a three-part television adaption of The War of the Worlds for the BBC.

13. Barbara Bach (In 1977 & Now)

Most known for her role as the beautiful Bond girl Anya Amasova in the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), and also for a skint as Ringo Starr’s wife! She’s now in her 70’s and prefers to focus on her charity work, she is the co-founder of the Self Help Addiction Recovery Program (SHARP)

14. Julie Christie (Then & Now)

Julie was a screen icon of the “swinging London” era of the 1960s, she has received many awards over the years, such as an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She has also appeared in six films that were ranked in the British Film Institute’s 100 greatest British films of the 20th century, and in 1997 she received the BAFTA Fellowship.
Her most recent role was in the political thriller The Company You Keep in 2012, where she co-starred with Robert Redford and Sam Elliott.

15. David Essex (Then & Now)

David was every teenage girl’s dream in the ’70s and has had a hugely successful career as a musician, singer-songwriter, and actor.
Now in his 70’s, David is still looking good and still working, in February 2016, he performed in The War Of The Worlds at the Dominion Theatre.

16. Donna D’Errico (Then & Now)

Baywatch star Donna literally must be immortal judging by these two pictures! On the left in her heyday and in 1996 on the right! Now, I know that’s not strictly ‘now’, but you have to admit, she still hadn’t changed a bit! Now in her 50s, she continues to (not age) and star in films and on television.

17. Pamela Anderson (In 1988 & 2017)

Staying on the Baywatch theme, Pamela is still very much on our screens and is a popular face in both the USA & the UK, as well as spending a lot of time campaigning for Animal Rights.

18. Kim Cattrall (In 1982 & 2017)

Obviously best known for her role in the ever-popular Sex In The City, Kim has had a hugely successful acting career. However, she suffered a setback in 2015 when she had to drop out of a play at the Royal Court Theatre in London, due to chronic insomnia.

19. Alec Baldwin (Then & Now)

Alec is well known for being a successful actor, writer, producer, and comedian. Now in his 50’s and still working, he co-starred in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, the fifth instalment of the Mission: Impossible series, which was released on July 31, 2015, and reprised the role in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, released on July 27, 2018.

20. Andy Garcia (Then & Now)

Having appeared in a string of successful Hollywood films, including The Godfather Part III, The Untouchables, Internal Affairs and When a Man Loves a Woman, Andy’s was a very familiar face back in the ’80s and ’90s. Now in his 60’s, his last notable role was in 2006, when he appeared in the last episode of the Turkish TV series Kurtlar Vadisi, along with Sharon Stone.
