#2019Election: INEC cancels re-run, set to declare winner
The Independent National Electoral Commission is set to announce the winner of the Bauchi State governorship election.
The commission made this known after its fact-finding meeting on Friday.
The governorship election in the state had been declared inconclusive after the returning officer of Tafawa Balewa local government had revealed that thugs came to disrupt the collation of results.
INEC revealed that results had been announced in polling units across the local government, hence it approved the resumption and conclusion of the collation of results of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area in relation to the Governorship election as the duplicate and original Registration Area results are available.
Before the declaration of the Bauchi governorship as inconclusive, the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bala Mohammed, polled 469,512 votes against Governor Mohammed Abubakar who scored 465,453 votes.
