20 Wholesome Things About Steve Irwin That Prove He Was Just Too Good For This Planet

September 4th, 2006 is a date that I – and millions of other people around the world I’m sure – will never, ever forget.

Because on September 4th, 2006, the world lost one of it’s true, true treasures – a loveable, adored Crocodile Hunter who went by the name of Steve Irwin.

And in case you need reminding (although I don’t know why you freakin’ would) Steve Irwin was an Australian TV host and all-around-good-guy conservationist who literally won over the hearts of millions of people across the globe with his incredibly infectious enthusiasm for some of the most terrifying animal on the planet. Not to mention he taught an entire generation of 90s kids how to be able to appreciate nature and all of its inhabitants, great and small.

And when you look back on the type of guy Steve Irwin was, you can totally see how he became such a global phenomenon. The Crocodile Hunter was patient, kind and adorable and we were all truly lucky to be able to get as much of a glimpse into his life as we did.

Anyway, in order to commemorate one of my favorite legends ever, I tracked down some of the most wholesome Steve Irwin memes I could find and put them all together for you guys to enjoy along with me.

It doesn’t matter what animal Steve was dealing with that day or that episode, he always looked at it like it was the most beautiful, glorious thing he had ever come upon. To him, literally, everything was a BEEYOOTEEEY.

See what I mean? Steve was fearless with his love, across all species, no matter how ‘dangerous’ or feared they were. He loved them all and we all loved him for it.

I love this idea and from now on will 100% be using it in any scary situation I find myself in whatsoever… which is pretty much every situation I’m ever involved in.

Congratulations, you have now been officially blessed my this post! I’ve never seen a purer, more wholesome image in my entire life. I’ve already downloaded it to my phone so I can look at it on a gloomy day.

That was another gloriously lovable thing about Steve… he never blamed the animals for what they did, because he knew it was their nature to do it. He always blamed himself, and to this day it is still an incredibly admirable quality.

This is so true! Once again we visit the Trinity of Wholesomeness. Even today’s “Youth” can appreciate the sheer beauty and significance of living on the same planet as these three heroes.

I never thought I’d be able to relate to a crocodile before yet here I am, relating to this crocodile. And I’m 100% sure I am not the only one who would feel the same way.

And the thing is, Steve never did these things to show off or to impress people. He did these things because it’s what he loved doing and if he needed help with something or knew that it would help the animal more, he would ask for it.

Shaggy? Shaggy who? It’s all about Irwin baby… always has been and always will be!

Just to give this one some context (in case you aren’t a massive nerd like me) Mjolnir is the name of Thor’s (God of Thunder) beloved trusty hammer – and only a God can wield it! So, yes, Steve Irwin, who is very obviously a God, would definitely, definitely be able to wield it.

Did I mention just how SMASHING the man looked in a romper too? No? Well, didn’t think I needed to… I mean, just look at him.

*RAISES HAND SO HIGH IT GOES THROUGH THE CEILING* Not sure if there’s anyone out there who wouldn’t hold up their hand tbh… and if there is, I definitely never want to meet them ever.

Honestly, this one made me CRY laughing. It’s so accurate that it’s hilarious – this was definitly Steve Irwin’s signature move, but my gosh did we freakin’ love him for it!

And here we have yet another truly wholesome meme to show just how wonderful a person Steve Irwin truly was. What as it I said before? He was fearless, and alway willing to do whatever he needed to in order to help his beloved animals.

BOOM, NEXT! Luckily there has now in fact been a memorial statue in Steve’s honor and all the incredible work he did for animal and humankind alike, in Steve’s birthplace Australia.

I didn’t even know this snail existed but no that I do I feel as though my life has now improved by 200%. Now all I have to do is try and find one of these little devils!

Not only was Steve passionate about animals, but he was also passionate about the education of animals, and as previously mentioned showing his passion to an entire generation of people in home it will motivate to love and care about nature as much as he did. It certainly worked on me!

Remember that dark, dark day when PETA had the AUDACITY to come after Steve Irwin? The absolute monsters. If you’ve read my articles before, you’ll know how much I actually despise them. Not on my watch, PETA!

Out of the mouth of babes; how could I not include this truly heart-warming post from Steve’s own (now grown-up) daughter, Bindi? We feel you Bindi, we’re right there with you!

20.

And last but not least, one of my most favorite quotes on this Earth. Because it’s true; people are so quick to judge animals for what they do, but they can’t help it – it’s in their nature. But people, people choose to bite and stab you in the back every single day.

I don’t know about you guys, but this has made me want to get straight onto YouTube so I can spend my weekend watching all of Steve’s animal episodes all over again! So if you can’t find me… that’s where I’ll be!
