20 Dreadful Bathroom Designs That Scream “Leave It To The Professionals”
Usually, when you spend some time in the bathroom it’s a peaceful experience, especially when in the comfort of your own home. However, using public restrooms can be a different experience entirely…
Everyone has suffered that terrible moment when you are desperate for the toilet and are searching for a public restroom, praying what you find inside isn’t straight out of a clean freak’s horror movie.
These bathroom design fails are so awful, you would probably prefer to have your own little accident than actually use one of these toilets. Whoever designed these really needs a new job, they are hideous, inconvenient and basically make everyone uncomfortable.
I am definitely not a fan of any of these and I hope that I will never face the day where I have to use a bathroom like this…
1.) The bathroom that will give you nightmares
goodluck_canuck / Reddit
This mom was used to her toddler stalking her whenever she went to the bathroom. However, this Airbnb had a translucent bathroom door which led to this terrifying predicament. I’m not sure why you would ever want a translucent bathroom door because this is the creepiest thing that I’ve EVER seen.
2.) This toilet is anxiety-inducing
Jonwyattearp / Reddit
Just why would you ever think that this is a good idea for a toilet design? It’s not only so ugly but I don’t think anyone in their right mind could EVER bring themselves to actually sit down on this. I would be constantly wiping it dry even though it’s already dry. I am stressed out just looking at this picture.
3.) The slide that no one wants…
batataqw89 / Reddit
For some reason, this hotel thought that it would be a GREAT design idea to attach the sink to the toilet and form a perfect slide. At least it’s a reminder to always close the toilet lid or your toiletries will literally fall into the bowl.
4.) Breaking the very first rule of a wheelchair accessible bathroom
Cadenceminge / Reddit
This truly might be the stupidest bathroom design that I’ve EVER seen. It’s meant to be a disabled bathroom and yet there’s a huge step up to even get into the bathroom…who designed this? I need to know and have a chat with them.
5.) Privacy is overrated, right?
IAmDrinkingIcedTea / Reddit
Clearly, this bathroom doesn’t think that guys deserve the luxury of actually having some privacy when they pee. Instead, they have to stand as close together as possible. Where would you even look?!
6.) I like to call this shade “diarrhoea”
Xuhale / Reddit
For some reason, this public bathroom decided to paint the walls in a smeared fashion that looks exactly like poop. Nice. Is it paint or poop? No one will ever know and I don’t think anyone wants to find out!
7.) The most enthusiastic bathroom ever
barrunat / Reddit
This bathroom floor celebrates you every time you use the bathroom. I mean, I appreciate the enthusiasm and support but some of us can’t use the toilet with that many eyes on us!
8.) Rule over your bathroom kingdom upon this royal throne
zackogenic / Reddit
This bathroom wants to treat people like royalty and I like it. I mean it’s a bit much and I don’t know if I would feel comfortable using a throne to pee but I appreciate the gesture. It’s lavish but where’s the toilet paper? The throne probably wipes for you…
9.) Another shocking choice of toilet decoration
bergerNfries / Reddit
First, we had the poop paint and now we present to you, the poop patterned sink! I would definitely not feel clean after washing my hands in a sink like that.
10.) Slight design flaw, maybe try pressing the rotate button?
orangejuice1234 / Reddit
This seriously looks like someone was playing The Sims and they forgot to rotate the urinal and now their Sim can’t use it so it just has to wet itself. This is quite literally that situation.
11.) You can kiiiind of see through but apparently this is fine?
-Firgun- / Reddit
There is absolutely no chance that I would ever use a toilet with semi-transparent doors like this. It’s super awkward and they might as well just be see-through! Who actually thought that this was a good idea?
12.) Is this even legal?
JKastnerPhoto / Reddit
This is quite possibly the most bizarre bathroom set-up that I have ever seen before. I’m pretty sure this isn’t legal. Imagine just going to the toilet in the middle of your classroom where everyone can see and hear you?! Not going to happen.
13.) The most pointless window ever to have existed
Observatus / Reddit
What is up with this bathroom window?! I mean, it’s adorable but really what’s the point? It’s like the person desperately wanted a window in their bathroom but this was all they could get so they insisted on having it. I love how it opens too! Imagine walking past and seeing someone staring out of this tiny window…
14.) He is always watching, especially in the bathroom
Chester_117 / Reddit
This bathroom likes to unsettle men using the urinal by having a stranger stare at them the entire time. I wonder how many men decided against using this bathroom after walking in and seeing this?
15.) The most confusing room ever created
badnewsbearnews / Reddit
Is this some kind of weird waiting area for the toilet? Why is there no door separating the two so people can actually use the bathroom in private? I love how there is a candle too, it really brings the room together.
16.) A sink created for anything but humans
chichumolay / Reddit
Thinking of washing your hands after using the bathroom? Think again. This sink is actually meant for tiny animals and insects, apparently.
17.) The most judgemental bathroom
goregyle / Reddit
Don’t we all just love peeing in front of a load of people just sitting there, judging and watching us. This is definitely the most difficult task of the Apprentice, Alan Sugar really loves to push his candidates to the very next level.
18.) Great bathroom mirror. 10/10.
lavitaetroppobreve / Reddit
If you are heading to the bathroom with the hopes of fixing your hair or makeup, think again. This bathroom hates being helpful and has a mirror that literally doesn’t do its job at all. Hey, at least it might look normal when you’re drunk!
19.) The narrow toilet
prongs995 / Reddit
What is up with this toilet being so narrow?! Even the skinniest people would have no chance when trying to sit down on it. This must lead to some very messy bathroom visits.
20.) This bathroom is designed to look filthy
jeffy983 / Reddit
Yes, you may be disgusted the second you walk into this bathroom but rest assured, that filth is actually part of the design! Good luck feeling comfortable enough to use the bathroom there though without wanting to wash with bleach afterwards…
I am so thankful that I am yet to encounter a public restroom as horrific as these. Which one did you hate the most? Let us know in the comments!
