However, most of us only know him from his amazing portrayal of Freddie Mercury in the fantastic Bohemian Rhapsody movie. This 37-year-old Oscar winner has actually played many unforgettable roles before this huge box office hit and they are definitely worth taking a look at!

1.) Need for Speed

Rami played the role of Finn in the 2014 Need for Speed movie. The film is based on the popular video game series and Rami’s role is a car mechanic. His mission is to restore an expensive car and pay the workshop’s huge debt. It’s a thrilling ride that you won’t want to miss! I had no idea that movies were now being made about VIDEO GAMES, I am definitely behind the times…

2.) Night at the Museum

Rami plays Ahkmenrah from Night at the Museum, which takes place in the American Museum of Natural History. The exhibits mysteriously come to life at night, including Rami who is the Pharoah Ahkmenrah. This is a great light-hearted film to see Rami in a different light! He does pull off the Pharoah look though, I wonder if that’s how he dresses up for Halloween?

3.) Mr. Robot

Rami plays the main role of Elliot Alderson in the iconic Mr. Robot TV show, this is where most people remember Rami Malek from. Elliot Alderson is a computer hacker whose main purpose is to destroy the banking system with cyber attacks. This brilliant show depicts Elliot as an intelligent computer hacker who suffers from relatable problems like anxiety and depression. Malek’s performance is astounding and this show cannot be missed.

Definitely worth a watch if you are a fan of black hoodies, Rami seems to wear one in every scene anyway…

Rami plays Jonah/Buster in the indie 2017 film Buster’s Mal Heart. Rami is a strange bearded man who lives in the mountains and is known as Buster. However, his real name is revealed as Jonah, he is living two entirely opposite lives due to his psychological problems. Rami would definitly make a good Jesus, he is rocking that look in this movie.

5.) Papillon

Rami Malek played the role of Louis Dega in the Papillon movie which was released just before his main role in Bohemian Rhapsody! The movie is based on the life of French convict Henri Charrière who was jailed for a crime he didn’t commit. Louis Dega, played by Rami, helps him to escape the prison.

6.) The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

Rami Malek stars in Twilight’s final movie instalment as Benjamin, a vampire from the Egyptian coven. Those red eyes suit him well! Rami Malek has appeared in many indie films and Short Term 12 is no exception! Rami plays Nate who is a supervisor for troubled teenagers. He meets another supervisor, Grace, who is struggling with her own past and tries to help her.

Rami plays the character of Merriel “Snafu” Shelton is The Pacific, a movie based on the intervention of the United States during the Pacific War. He character is deep and humorous, a heart touching movie that you won’t want to pass by.

Rami Malek made a guest appearance on the award-winning TV show 24. Malek appeared in 3 episodes, acting as Marcos Al-Zacar who was a terrorist from the Republic of Kamistan.

Rami played the role of Kenny in the War at Home series which followed a dysfunctional family in New York. Kenny is forced to live with his best friend after telling his parent’s that he was gay. This is a brilliant coming of age show and shows a different side to Rami Malek’s acting!

His first ever Hollywood role was in the 2004 11th episode in Season 4 of Gilmore Girls, called “In The Clamor and the Clangor.” It was a small role with only three lines but it was a huge breakthrough for Rami Malek, look at where he is now!
