These 14 Illustrations Are An Incredible Reflection Of What’s ‘Wrong’ With Society
This period in which we find ourselves is one where technology has taken over almost every skill and talent. Making artistic drawings that are meant to satire the society is fast becoming a thing of the past.
Everybody sees the world through a different lens, and even with two people looking at the same patch of grass, there would be a difference in what they both see. Because of this, there is an uncountable number of ways in which the world can be seen and modern civilization in particular. There are many ways to see the world and too many people to do the seeing, and so we have so many interpretations.
For instance, someone living in Syria would make a very interpretation of the world around them and would paint a different picture from someone who lives in the United States. This is because they both experience two different things. In America, someone might draw a picture of how phones and drugs are hurting the community while someone in Syria would draw fighter airplanes throwing down bombs and killing their family and friends.
Although, most likely those people that have a hard time of it prefer to focus on the good parts of life that they can experience instead of letting their gloomy thoughts spill out on paper and pen.
One man’s artistic drawings have caught the attention of the internet as his works have gone viral. The artist is Al Margen. Al’s works truly show the sad decay that has seeped into our society.
AL Margen is an artist who is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Al makes artistic drawings of the regime of technology and what its impact has been on us.
While discussing his drawings and paintings, he said,
“They are children of boredom, nonconformity or anger. They are the representation of discarded ideas. They are the garbage of the subconscious. But they are more visceral and sincere than other drawings because they have no obligation to please. Because they were born only by an impulse and nothing more. Because they were born to annoy because they show the imperfect.”
His art does not shy away from calling out humanity on its hypocritical attitudes. Using a picture to portray fake attention or feeling for the environment, Al draws a woman with a recycling logo designed on her shirt. What seems rather weird is that the logo is made of leopard fur. The woman in the drawing doesn’t just stop there; she further takes a selfie with a leopard who is missing some of his fur in the shape of a recycling logo.
In yet another one, AL shows that the woman who is taking a nude selfie in the pose of Kim Kardashian. The only difference is that the selfie comes across as morbid with so many eyes fixed right at her.
In another drawing, AL makes an allusion to the lying Pinocchio. In the picture, a bald and unhealthy man sits before the television apparently listening to the lies being told on the news because he is stabbed on his forehead by the extended nose of the news anchor.
This next picture is about a child who is depicted as an ear while his parents are drawn as mouths because they seem to know nothing other than to talk.
There is the sad question of children going to school and being forced to learn a lot of things. His next illustration shows a small child carrying a heavy load of books, academic symbols and so on.
This next one depicts a woman who is ready to move up via a couple of one dollar bills up to the boss man’s d!ck.
