Osaze Odewingie’s hotel manager killed in shootout between two rival cult groups in Benin
Gunmen have reportedly killed the manager of a hotel belonging to ex-Nigerian international footballer, Osaze Odewingie, in Benin, Edo State.
The deceased identified as Osato Okunkpolo, was reportedly shot dead by members of Eiye and Aye who were engaged in a shootout in the area on Sunday night, February 17, at the hotel located at Erediauwa Street, off Upper Sokponba Road, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo.
The corpse has been deposited at the Bénin Central Hospital, Mortuary. He was married to a journalist, Anita Okunkpolo who works at a a local tabloid company in Benin City.
Mourning the deceased, MC Osato, believed to be his brother, wrote on Facebook:
“My big brother my Epa all the time your departure is still a choke to me which kept me indoor since the sad news of your death came. RIP my Epa all the time.”
