6-year-old boy beheaded for practicing wrong Islam in Saudi

A 6-year-old boy identified as Zakariya Bader al-Jabir, was beheaded in front of his screaming mum for practicing wrong Islam in Saudi.

It was gathered that shortly after the boy and his mum who visited a shrine of the Prophet Muhammad in Medina were approached and asked if they were Shia Muslims to which they were affirmative to, a car pulled up beside them and snatched the boy away.

TMV who shared a footage of the murdered boy’s funeral, said he was killed in broad daylight in the city of Medina last Thursday. The killer repeatedly stabbed Zakariya in the neck with a piece of broken glass until he was beheaded, witness accounts of the gruesome killing said.

The Shia group disclosed that while he 6-year-old boy was beheaded for practicing wrong Islam, “there was no intervention from anyone and no response from authority thus far.” The group wrote;

The Saudi Shia community came together in mourning and to show solidarity with the parents.

The community also reported this incident is a result of ongoing violations and lack of protection by the Saudi authority toward its Shia population.

Saudi Shia have been under military crackdown by their government and many Shia are in prisons and on death toll.

Shia is a branch of Islam which holds that the Islamic prophet Muhammad designated Ali ibn Abi Talib as his successor and the Imam (leader) after him, most notably at the event of Ghadir Khumm, but was prevented from the caliphate as a result of the incident at Saqifah. This view primarily contrasts with that of Sunni Islam, whose adherents believe that Muhammad did not appoint a successor and consider Abu Bakr, who they claim was appointed Caliph through a Shura, i.e. community consensus in Saqifa, to be the first rightful Caliph after the Prophet.
