Being a photographer is a lot of time and effort. People nowadays think that all you need is a camera and you’re good to go. However, that is not entirely true. I mean, sure, you do need a camera, but you need so many other things, too. You need to learn how to make good use of the lighting, and finding the perfect angle for the perfect shot. You need to be prepared at all times if you want to catch that one perfectly timed moment. I am talking about Arthur Mesbius. His favorite moments to photograph are the funny ones. He has been in the photography profession for 15 years now, and he doesn’t do just photography. He even does stop-motion film projects, shooting 25 frames per second.

Commenting on his own work, Mesbius says:

The stories that I like to shoot can be funny, curious, compelling, or all at once.

When looking at his portfolio, it is not surprising that his photography is award-winning. He somehow manages to be there at the right time at the right moment, which is what every photographer aims for. His work has been recognized by D&AD, ADC, Cannes, Epica and the PANL Sony Award.
