Woman arraigned for murder of two-year-old boy in Lagos

A woman identified as, Chinenye Ndubuife, has been arraigned by the police in Lagos for the murder of a two-year-old boy, Wisdom Promise.

According to police, the woman committed the murder on the 12th of December, 2018, around 1pm at No. 70 Lawani Street, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos, in the Ebute Meta Magisterial District.

The police added that the offence was contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015. The charge read;

“That you Chinenye Ndubuife, on December 12, 2018, around 1pm at No. 70 Lawani Street, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did kill one Wisdom Promise, aged two years, by hitting him with a stone on his head, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

The presiding magistrate, A. O. Komofe, adjourned the matter till January 30, 2019, for advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions and remanded the suspect in prison custody.
